Uganda Mountain Gorilla Tour includes nature reserves and wildlife park visits. You will explore the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and Maasai Mara National Reserve in Kenya, among other notable areas.

Uganda Mountain Gorilla Tour will take you traversing the quintessential nature preserves that are dedicated to the preservation of wildlife species in Africa. Uganda’s mountain gorillas are endangered species and do not tend to adapt well to confined environments such as in zoos. And this is why this type of gorilla is found only in their natural African habitat, in the wild. In addition to gorillas and chimps, the preserves in Uganda are also home to a variety of flora and nature species. About half of the mountain gorilla population on earth resides in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest along with Mgahinga Gorilla Park in Uganda, East Africa. These parks provide protected habitats for mammals (including primates), birds, butterflies, and frogs.

Uganda Mountain Gorilla Tour is guided by a local naturalist and conservationist. Gorillas in the region are categorized as either mountain gorillas or lowland gorillas, with some subspecies. Both Rwanda and Uganda (that is the forest that reaches into both countries) provide the best opportunity to see mountain gorillas, and the Republic of Congo for seeing lowland gorillas.

Lowland gorillas are smaller in stature and depict a brownish-gray fur coat and a pronounced brow ridge. They are greater in numbers. The mountain gorillas are larger in size and have a darker black coat. They are less than 800 surviving in the African wilderness.

Maasai Mara National Reserve is rated as Kenya’s premier site to see African wildlife. Thanks to conservation programs much of the lands are reserved as wildlife protected areas, therefore allowing more space for the animals to roam and strive.

Over 1.5 million wildebeests and many thousands of zebras during the Great Migration traverse the Masai Mara through the Serengeti National Park. Uganda Mountain Gorilla Tour highlights Maasai Mara. You can observe the wildebeest migration, big 5 sightings, hot air ballooning, exploring the huge savannahs of golden grasslands with their big open skies over the African landscape.
