Uganda Mountain Gorilla Tour will take you traversing the quintessential nature preserves that are dedicated to the preservation of wildlife species in Africa. Uganda’s mountain gorillas are endangered species and do not tend to adapt well to confined environments such as in zoos. And this is why this type of gorilla is found only in their natural African habitat, in the wild. In addition to gorillas and chimps, the preserves in Uganda are also home to a variety of flora and nature species. About half of the mountain gorilla population on earth resides in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest along with Mgahinga Gorilla Park in Uganda, East Africa. These parks provide protected habitats for mammals (including primates), birds, butterflies, and frogs.
Uganda Mountain Gorilla Tour is guided by a local naturalist and conservationist. Gorillas in the region are categorized as either mountain gorillas or lowland gorillas, with some subspecies. Both Rwanda and Uganda (that is the forest that reaches into both countries) provide the best opportunity to see mountain gorillas, and the Republic of Congo for seeing lowland gorillas.
Lowland gorillas are smaller in stature and depict a brownish-gray fur coat and a pronounced brow ridge. They are greater in numbers. The mountain gorillas are larger in size and have a darker black coat. They are less than 800 surviving in the African wilderness.
Maasai Mara National Reserve is rated as Kenya’s premier site to see African wildlife. Thanks to conservation programs much of the lands are reserved as wildlife protected areas, therefore allowing more space for the animals to roam and strive.
Over 1.5 million wildebeests and many thousands of zebras during the Great Migration traverse the Masai Mara through the Serengeti National Park. Uganda Mountain Gorilla Tour highlights Maasai Mara. You can observe the wildebeest migration, big 5 sightings, hot air ballooning, exploring the huge savannahs of golden grasslands with their big open skies over the African landscape.
Along with the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, Maasai Mara (Masai Mara) in south-west Kenya serve as important ecosystems, supporting a diversified array of species. While game driving in Masai Mara, you can observe the lion, the African leopard, and the cheetah. Here, the zebra, the gazelle, and the wildebeest traverse the landscape during the annual migration.
Located a short drive from Nairobi, Lake Naivasha is the highest of the Rift Valley lakes.
Sited on the floor of Great Rift Valley, Lake Nakuri supports a wide range of species. It is noted for bird watching, hiking, and game drives.
Jinja lies at a point where Victoria Nile flows out of Lake Victoria and reaching Egypt and the Mediterranean.
Home to 320 mountain gorillas, roughly half of the wild mountain gorilla population, Bwindi Impenetrable NP is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Kampala is nestled among twenty-seven hills.
Late June through to October is the dry season in Kenya. By July wildebeest migration reaches the Masai Mara and last until October when they head back to the Serengeti in Tanzania. Kenya's wildlife viewing for animal species is good all-year-round.
