The Spa at the Thailand Eco Resort.
The resort’s spa village is nestled into the lush tropical hillside. A Long House Suite is modelled on a typical village house from northern Thailand. It offers treatments designed to create a unique and memorable spa journey through four interconnected spaces.
Using only naturally and ethically produced spa products, the treatment menu promotes traditional Thai healing practices and incorporates the four elements of earth, water, fire and air, to ensure the senses are balanced.
Guests will experience nature first hand on our Nature Trail, which is situated in the mangrove forest connected to the resort.
Six Senses Yao Noi's Environmental and Social Sustainability Policy focuses on energy efficiency, water and waste management, social commitment, protecting natural surroundings, air quality and noise control.
Six Senses Yao Noi was built on the site of a former rubber plantation. Many of the rubber trees were kept to create shade from the sun as well as keeping soil from eroding. In addition, the landscape and gardens have been improved with the philosophy of re-generating the tropical flora as it would have been if the area was left untouched. Local plants and fruit trees have been planted to attract wild life, particularly birds such as the Hornbill. The resort is fortunate to have as well a mangrove forest in front of the restaurants area.
The resort has been authorized by the local government to rejuvenate and protect the public mangrove area for education purposes. The local community and Six Senses' hosts have build a wooden walkway and planted around 3,000 mangrove seedlings. This allows guests to continue to enjoy the mangroves and give the possibility to spot some of the fascinating wild life with minimal damage to the biodiversity.
Maps and sketches of the most frequently seen unique flora and fauna are signposted throughout the 500-meter boardwalk, explaining in detail what to look for. For those enthusiasts wanting to know more, we also offer guided tours.
Wherever possible, we favour locally sourced and environmentally sound products. We also encourage our suppliers to reduce packaging and deliver in bulk to reduce waste and the greenhouse gas emissions produced.
To be part of responsible purchasing, local goods and crafts such as batik painting products are available as souvenirs. These products represent Koh Yao Noi, while financially supporting the local community. We ask guests to refrain from buying shell pieces or things collected from nature, such as animal products or plants.
Six Senses Yao Noi, together with the Women’s Club of Koh Yao Noi provide batik-painting lessons at which our guests can learn how to do a batik painting whilst at the same time supporting the local community.
