TREE HOUSES AT THE PERU ECO LODGE
Treehouse 1 has a beautiful view of both the jungle and the towering comedor.
Entry is through a unique trap door in the floor. During high water, the treehouse stands high over a flooded lagoon, providing tranquil views of the shimmering expanse – it’s an experience you won’t forget.
During low water, the vegetation revives and a view of the surrounding jungle beauty is something you will enjoy daily.
Treehouse 1 has two large branches within the interior which add to the feeling that you are home in nature.
A portable bed can be provided if requested for an additional person.
Treehouse 2 is located above the seasonally flooded zone of the Yarapa River.
The views from Treehouse 2 change dynamically depending on the water season.
Either way, you will be pleased with your morning vista. Treehouse 2 is built in a beautiful Oje tree surrounded by jungle vegetation. At the Peru Eco Lodge, you can take a short walk across the steel cable bridge and a nice view of the river opens up where you can often see river dolphins and local fisherman.
A portable bed can be provided if requested for an additional person.
Treehouse 3 is the only treehouse with a view of the Yarapa River at the Peru Eco Lodge.
It sits 39 feet off the ground and spans approximately 19 feet in diameter.
Like Treehouses 1 and 2, Treehouse 3 offers distinct views you can enjoy right from your bedroom whether it be high or low water season.
In addition, from this treehouse you may see some local villagers fishing or even a river dolphin if you’re lucky.

1 – 2 portable cots can be provided if requested for additional people.

On top of the stairs is a unique balcony with beautiful views of the surrounding jungle foliage that include bamboo and palm trees.

Treehouse 6 towers over the jungle providing magnificent views of the surrounding rainforest.
It’s a great place to watch Parakeets, Parrots, and Macaws in the early morning without even leaving the house.
Birds have built several hanging nests in clear view.
Treehouse 6 sits 67 feet off the ground and spans approximately 15 feet in diameter.
Treehouse 7 stands tall and provides a beautiful, secluded home nestled amongst the trees.

Only on very overcast days do we have to rely on a generator.
We even have a special solar freezer which is designed to use low power continually instead of heavy power in bursts.
The advantages of a self sustainable lodge are immense. Just to name a few:
The Peru Eco Lodge is powered with sustainable principles. Solar panels collect energy throughout the day that is stored in batteries and then used in the evening to light the lodge and power the fans and electrical outlets. Minimal amounts of power are required during the day to power the freezer, refrigerator, and kitchen. We have a generator for backup purposes, but our ideal is to leave it unused. You’ll appreciate the silence of solar power when you immerse in the sounds of the jungle.
At the, we bring in fresh, purified water for drinking and cooking to ensure the health of our guests. Most of the water used at the lodge comes from the river. We have a 4-tank water purification system that provides water for showers, toilets, sinks, and cleaning. The first tank allows the sediment to settle. The second two tanks are for purification. The final tank sits atop a high tower for pressure. Additionally, every structure has it’s own purified water tank for showers, toilets, and sinks.
Construction of the Peru Eco Lodge was accomplished using onsite tree experts. Methods and techniques were learned from consultants with decades of experience who have worked building in trees and maintaining platforms and cable bridges.
We are proud to be driving toward 100% energy self sufficiency at the Peru Eco Lodge and we hope you’ll help us in our efforts to productively enjoy the beautiful rainforest habitat.
In bad years, the water even raises high enough to flood their stilted homes. As a result, they are forced to live out of canoes and abandon their home until the water recedes. Given these treacherous conditions, the villagers have no other option but to relocate across the river to higher ground. At the Peru Eco Lodge, we would like to help them in their efforts by creating a clean water system for their newly established village.
The lack of clean water is a primary cause of disease among the villagers. They have never had access to a basic water filtration system.
Our dream is to replicate the same water system that we have at the Peru Eco Lodge.
This is a multi-step filtration system that purifies and stores the water so that the villagers will have a consistent supply of clean water and begin to stem their hardships. We cannot do this alone and we would like your help! We will soon be organizing a list of items that our guests can volunteer to buy when they come to the Peru Eco Lodge.
If you’d like to help, please contact the Treehouse resort by calling 435-879-5839.
On this recent trip, we gave clothes and medical supplies to 2 local villages. The medicine included a lot of very basic things they need like Advil and Tylenol and antiseptics and gauze, but also some not-so-basic things they need like viper anti-venom kits.
We invited all the kids and parents from two local villages to the lodge for a Christmas celebration. Christmas for them usually involves a clown, small gifts, and chocolate. We hired a couple clowns to come to the lodge and entertain the kids. It was a great time for all.
