Our Peru Eco Lodge is the only all-inclusive treehouse lodge in the Amazon, delivering luxury unexpectedly in the jungle. The Peru Eco Lodge is sited at the confluence of the serene, protected Yarapa and Cumaceba rivers near the Pacaya Samiria Reserve. We invite you to come and stay with us and you’ll see the rainforest from an entirely new perspective than most visitors ever experienced… the tree top canopy…

You’ll never forget the experience of watching monkeys and birds at eye level as every morning you’ll wake up to a safari of animal life before you even get out of bed. Not to worry, you won’t sacrifice any of the usual comforts found on the ground. Every bungalow is equipped with shower, sink, toilet, and clean white linens. Your personal treehouse bungalow gets you up off the jungle floor and helps you enjoy the airy relief from the heat and humidity. Surely, you’ll get a little extra exercise walking up to your bungalow, but after a meal filled with our delicious food, you’ll welcome it.

Treehouse 1 has a beautiful view of both the jungle and the towering comedor.

Entry is through a unique trap door in the floor. During high water, the treehouse stands high over a flooded lagoon, providing tranquil views of the shimmering expanse – it’s an experience you won’t forget.
During low water, the vegetation revives and a view of the surrounding jungle beauty is something you will enjoy daily.

Treehouse 1 has two large branches within the interior which add to the feeling that you are home in nature.

A portable bed can be provided if requested for an additional person.

Treehouse 2 is located above the seasonally flooded zone of the Yarapa River.

The views from Treehouse 2 change dynamically depending on the water season.
Either way, you will be pleased with your morning vista. Treehouse 2 is built in a beautiful Oje tree surrounded by jungle vegetation. At the Peru Eco Lodge, you can take a short walk across the steel cable bridge and a nice view of the river opens up where you can often see river dolphins and local fisherman.

A portable bed can be provided if requested for an additional person.

Treehouse 3 is the only treehouse with a view of the Yarapa River at the Peru Eco Lodge.

It sits 39 feet off the ground and spans approximately 19 feet in diameter.
Like Treehouses 1 and 2, Treehouse 3 offers distinct views you can enjoy right from your bedroom whether it be high or low water season.

In addition, from this treehouse you may see some local villagers fishing or even a river dolphin if you’re lucky.

Treehouse 3 is built in a beautiful Oje tree surrounded by jungle vegetation. A portable bed can be provided if requested for an additional person.

Treehouse 4 looks and feels like the charming home fit for the Swiss Family Robinson.

A few large branches within the treehouse make you really feel like you’re truly living in a treehouse! And the views will have you mesmerized.

1 – 2 portable cots can be provided if requested for additional people.
Treehouse 5 has an exterior stair case that takes you outside the platforms and enters in through the side of the treehouse.

On top of the stairs is a unique balcony with beautiful views of the surrounding jungle foliage that include bamboo and palm trees.

A portable cot can be provided if requested for an additional person.

Treehouse 6 towers over the jungle providing magnificent views of the surrounding rainforest.

It’s a great place to watch Parakeets, Parrots, and Macaws in the early morning without even leaving the house.
Birds have built several hanging nests in clear view.

Treehouse 6 sits 67 feet off the ground and spans approximately 15 feet in diameter.

Treehouse 7 stands tall and provides a beautiful, secluded home nestled amongst the trees.

On one side, you will be greeted by spacious views spanning the rainforest, on the other the rainforest will be right next to you.
As this treehouse sits further into the jungle, it brings the sights and sounds of the wild close to home.

A portable cot can be provided if requested for an additional person.

Treehouse 8 is uniquely positioned inside numerous branches that cradle the hut comfortably in the jungle’s embrace.

It makes a wonderfully natural home with welcoming branches organically integrated into the space. Standing alone, Treehouse 8 is ideal for those who like a little distance from their neighbors.
Beautiful views of rainforest can be seen in every direction.
Further into the jungle, this treehouse brings the sights and sounds of the wild close to home.
The journey into the treehouse is as enjoyable as the stay with its own amazing private staircase that winds around the tree trunk.

A portable cot can be provided if requested for an additional person.

Our Peru Eco Lodge has recently added a solar power system that will operate all of the electrical needs of the resort including lights, fans, kitchen, refrigeration and freezing, and communication. We collect sun all day and store electricity in batteries and consume it in the evenings and nights.

Only on very overcast days do we have to rely on a generator.

We even have a special solar freezer which is designed to use low power continually instead of heavy power in bursts.

The advantages of a self sustainable lodge are immense. Just to name a few:

  • Experience: Even being in the middle of the jungle we can provide a beautiful experience for our guests without negatively impacting the environment we’re trying to share.
  • Water: We have all the water we need by pulling directly from the river and purifying in a multiple tank process.
  • Electricity: All electricity used at the lodge comes from the sun.
  • Waste: Disposal of waste is done in eco-friendly sceptic systems.
  • Cost savings: Gasoline and diesel fuel are expensive in this area. The up front costs of solar power are large, but the long term savings are even larger.
  • Sound: The sound of the jungle is one of its most mesmerizing features. At the lodge, you are absorbed in jungle sounds instead of the constant rumbling of a generator.
Our goal was to build a lodge which allowed our guests to live among the animals and view the forest up close. Our hope is that every guest will return home with an increased appreciation for and commitment to the preservation of the Amazon rainforest. The Peru Eco Lodge was built by hand, with no heavy equipment, careful to leave the most minimal footprint possible. Every effort was made to preserve every tree and plant on the property.

The Peru Eco Lodge is powered with sustainable principles. Solar panels collect energy throughout the day that is stored in batteries and then used in the evening to light the lodge and power the fans and electrical outlets. Minimal amounts of power are required during the day to power the freezer, refrigerator, and kitchen. We have a generator for backup purposes, but our ideal is to leave it unused. You’ll appreciate the silence of solar power when you immerse in the sounds of the jungle.

At the, we bring in fresh, purified water for drinking and cooking to ensure the health of our guests. Most of the water used at the lodge comes from the river. We have a 4-tank water purification system that provides water for showers, toilets, sinks, and cleaning. The first tank allows the sediment to settle. The second two tanks are for purification. The final tank sits atop a high tower for pressure. Additionally, every structure has it’s own purified water tank for showers, toilets, and sinks.

Construction of the Peru Eco Lodge was accomplished using onsite tree experts. Methods and techniques were learned from consultants with decades of experience who have worked building in trees and maintaining platforms and cable bridges.

We are proud to be driving toward 100% energy self sufficiency at the Peru Eco Lodge and we hope you’ll help us in our efforts to productively enjoy the beautiful rainforest habitat.

One of the villages nearby the Peru Eco Lodge faces very difficult conditions each year when the river rises. The water often rises 30 feet before it begins to recede. During this wet period there is no dry ground for the villagers to live on.

In bad years, the water even raises high enough to flood their stilted homes. As a result, they are forced to live out of canoes and abandon their home until the water recedes. Given these treacherous conditions, the villagers have no other option but to relocate across the river to higher ground. At the Peru Eco Lodge, we would like to help them in their efforts by creating a clean water system for their newly established village.

The lack of clean water is a primary cause of disease among the villagers. They have never had access to a basic water filtration system.

Our dream is to replicate the same water system that we have at the Peru Eco Lodge.

This is a multi-step filtration system that purifies and stores the water so that the villagers will have a consistent supply of clean water and begin to stem their hardships. We cannot do this alone and we would like your help! We will soon be organizing a list of items that our guests can volunteer to buy when they come to the Peru Eco Lodge.

Medicine and Clothing – January 2015/

On this recent trip, we gave clothes and medical supplies to 2 local villages. The medicine included a lot of very basic things they need like Advil and Tylenol and antiseptics and gauze, but also some not-so-basic things they need like viper anti-venom kits.

Christmas at the Orphanage – December 2014

We invited all the kids and parents from two local villages to the lodge for a Christmas celebration. Christmas for them usually involves a clown, small gifts, and chocolate. We hired a couple clowns to come to the lodge and entertain the kids. It was a great time for all.
