A luxury England Cornwall Eco Hotel, just for grownups, on the edge of the Ocean.

Imagine views of cliff, sea and sky at every moment, light airy spaces designed to connect you to the outdoors. It’s hard to describe the unique atmosphere of our England Cornwall Eco Hotel. Think of being cared for like you would be in the house of a friend, of many spaces to unwind, from meadow gardens to cliff top hot tubs, an Ayurvedic spa, relaxation lounges, fireside, poolside.

Each room at our England Cornwall Eco Hotel boasts its own individual outside space, ranging from private courtyard garden terraces to balconies. Our rooms are arranged over five levels, each offering unique aspects over gardens, cliffs, beach, sea and sky. Rooms with king sized beds can be twinned.

The rooms at our England Cornwall Eco Hotel offer stunning sea views, allowing you to wake up to the sound of the ocean:

Just Right Rooms

Each of these rooms has a double bed and an open plan bathroom that ensures you remain connected to your magnificent views.

The toilet and shower are situated a little further back just behind a frosted glass door in their own little wet room.

Most have a bath, those that don’t have a beautiful double monsoon head shower.

Generous Rooms

Our Generous rooms are slightly larger than our Just Right, most have double beds but four have king size beds and all have an open plan bathroom that ensures you remain connected to our magnificent views.

The toilet and shower are situated a little further back just behind a frosted glass door in their own wet room. Two of these rooms have disabled friendly features. Another has a freestanding bath with a view.

Unique Rooms

These split-level suites are our most intimate and unusual. Each bedroom has a king size bed with an oval bath at the foot, a circular monsoon shower and a separate toilet.

Each room takes its name from the Cornish Garden that inspired its courtyard garden, accessed from the bedroom. A spiral staircase takes you from the bedroom and leads up to a rooftop sitting room and it is from there that you have horizon sea views across our sea thrift roof.

Spacious Rooms

Our Spacious rooms are light and airy, and often book first. All but one has a king size bed, the other a double bed.

Each room has an open plan bathroom with far reaching sea views, the toilet and large monsoon shower are situated a little further back just behind a frosted glass door.

Indulgent Rooms

Our four Indulgent rooms are a real treat, each has a king size bed and a generous lounge area.

They all offer an open plan bathroom with a free standing bath, a large monsoon shower and a separate toilet.

The Restaurant at our England Cornwall Eco Hotel

Open to all for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Our food is cooked from the heart and really does have Cornwall at its centre.

The Spa at our England Cornwall Eco Hotel

Our spa is your haven of tranquility with its far-reaching views over Mawgan Porth Beach to the wild and beautiful Atlantic beyond.

At our England Cornwall Eco Hotel, sustainability is not just something that we feel is right, it has become a way of life. We strive to redefine what luxury can be, a richness of experience without over consumption.

At Red Hotels Ltd (The Scarlet and our sister hotel, Bedruthan) we have taken responsibility for reducing the negative impacts our actions and activities have on the environment and our local community. Our ‘Cherish the World’ ethos, which is embraced by our whole team, is not simply something that we feel is right, it has become our way of life.

Our aim is to create memorable holidays, experiences and escapes which don’t cost the Earth; we have dared to be different in our approach:

  • We source responsibly, scratching beneath the surface and considering the life cycle of the products and services we purchase.
  • We aim to reduce the amount of waste we send to landfill year-on-year.
  • We have a target to reduce our carbon footprint year-on-year.
  • We publish our energy and waste data, transparently sharing successes and failures.
  • We create rather than consume.
  • We aim to inspire all who come into contact with us to make positive changes in their own lives or businesses.
  • We are ground-breaking and innovative in our decision making, continuously playing with the ‘norms’ associated with 4* hospitality.
  • We pause to reflect on our decisions to ensure that we can stand by them
  • We are not perfect, nor do we believe that there is such a thing as ‘perfect’
  • We acknowledge our guilty pleasures and mistakes, and celebrate the learning they bring.
  • We are true to our values, resilient to challenge and committed to what we do.

Although we know that at times it can be difficult or frustrating, we will always strive to improve, ensuring that we deliver a high quality, sustainably conscious businesses.

As part of our efforts to promote sustainable tourism we have set up a Community Fund to fund new or existing projects in our parish that contribute to improving the local natural environment and providing social benefit to people living in the area. The fund is made up of donations given by our guests through our Guest Gifting Scheme.

The Guest Gifting Scheme enables our guests to give back to charities to support different environmental projects on the North Coast. These charities include:

  • Surfers Against Sewage ( – supporting the cleanliness of our seas and beaches
  • The National Trust ( – specifically supporting projects at Carnewas just around the corner from us
  • The Community Fund – our charitable initiative which helps realise environmental and social projects in the local area
