Just 45 minutes from the capital city Roseau, the hotel features 28 spacious rooms and suites, organic cuisine, nature-inspired spa, personalized wellness program chic amenities, a black sand beach where turtles safely nest and more.
Since opening in January 2011, the Rosalie Bay Resort (Dominica Eco Hotel) has received wide acclaim. In 2013, it was named the #2 resort in the Caribbean and among the Top 100 Hotels & Resorts in the World by Condé Nast Traveler. It honors include Green Globe certification, a Travel + Leisure Global Vision Award, Dominica Resort of the Year, a finalist in the US Secretary of State Award for Corporate Excellence and more.
Labor of love
Built by hand over the course of nine years, the Rosalie Bay Resort (Dominica Eco Hotel) is a dream and labor of love for owner Bev and her partner Oscar. They created the eco resort guided by Rosalie Bay’s mission statement that encompasses their commitment to the island community:
To showcase the beauty of Dominica to the outside world by developing a
world-class nature resort
To protect the local environment, and
To empower local residents by boosting their livelihoods
Stunning natural beauty
Nestled at the foothills of the Morne Trois Pitons, an UNESCO World Heritage Site, on the southeast coast, Rosalie Bay Resort (Dominica Eco Hotel) sits on 22 verdant acres at the intersection of the ever-changing Atlantic Ocean and crystal clear Rosalie River.
Stunning natural beauty and modern touches work together in perfect harmony to create a vacation where you feel rejuvenated, relaxed and reconnected.
It is simply magical at the Rosalie Bay Resort (Dominica Eco Hotel).
Our eco-resort is pioneer on Dominica when it comes to the environment, with the island’s first wind turbine, the only Green Globe resort certification and founding the sea turtle conservation program earning a Travel + Leisure Global Vision Award.
Wind and solar energy
A 225 kW wind turbine, one of the largest in the Leeward Islands of the Caribbean, together with more than 300 solar panels generates our energy. The solar power also heats the hot water throughout the resort.
Saving sea turtles
Owner Bev partnered with WIDECAST and other organizations to establish a sea turtle conservation program on Dominica. The efforts to protect the endangered gentle giants began on our black sand beach, but has since spread throughout the island and had great success in protecting the nests and hatchlings.

The resort was built by hand by locals using sustainable and recyclable materials. Talented island artisans hand carved wood into the beautiful furniture found throughout the rooms, suites and offices. Batik artwork was created by artists in Roseau. Handmade gifts in the boutique are created by crafters on island.
Today, the resort continues to be a major source of employment for the local villages and continues to support local businesses.
In addition, meals are prepared with fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables grown in our organic garden or procured from local fishermen and farmers. Other efforts include solar-heated water, UV filtered spring water, LED lights and more.
From chairs made from recycled milk jugs to sustainably-produced cotton sheets, every detail at our eco resort puts the environment first and supports our Environmental Policy and Sustainability Management Plan.
