This Belize Eco Lodge is a luxury resort hotel located in the northwest corner of the 107,000-acre Mountain Pine Ridge Forest Reserve in western Belize’s Cayo District. The Belize Eco Lodge itself is nestled on the banks of Privassion Creek and is set among tropical pines, oaks, palmetto, craboo, and ancient melastome shrubs. Within a few miles of the Belize Eco Lodge lie the steep limestone hills and valleys of the 13,000-acre Noj Kaax Meen Elijio Panti National Park. The dense jungle, steep ravines, spectacular waterfalls, and fast flowing rivers are home to many rare or endangered species of flora and fauna.
Beyond the Mountain Pine Ridge lies the vast uninhabited network of 14 protected areas that comprise the 1.2 million acre Maya Mountain Massif. Less than an hour drive along dirt roads to Guacamallo Bridge, the granite bedrock and red soils of the Mountain Pine Ridge meet the limestone and moist tropical broadleaf forests of the 264,000-acre Chiquibul National Park and the Caracol Archaeological Reserve.
The Belize Eco Lodge is the perfect hub for a myriad of adventures that can be enjoyed by the entire family. You can explore the many surrounding sights, caves, rivers, and jungles that make this area heaven on earth. A wide variety of excursions, tours, and activities is available at all skill levels, including cave tours, canoe trips, hikes, swimming, tubing, waterfalls, and visits to historic ruins.
Set on the banks of Privassion Creek, the Waterfall Spa at our our Belize Eco Lodge offers a variety of treatments, wraps, and massages, as well as access to the rejuvenating hot pool overlooking cascading waterfalls. At the request of Francis Ford Coppola, our Belize spa specializes in the art of Thai massage, and features a professionally trained staff that has studied ancient techniques at the Sacred Wat Pho Temple in Bangkok. With a hot pool heated solely by hydroelectricity, spa treatments that use locally sourced organic ingredients, and an open building design utilizing natural light, the Waterfall Spa is eco-luxury at its best.
The Family Coppola Resorts support several organizations and individuals in a continuing effort to preserve the biodiversity of Belize and Guatemala.
Design and Construction of Facilities
At our luxury Belize resorts, we have created buildings that blend into the natural environment. We use low profile, environmentally sound designs, thatch, hardwoods, pine, bamboo, and regionally produced tiles. We also use local and regional plants for landscaping that do not rely on intensive irrigation.
The design of our rooms allows us not to use air conditioning at our Belize properties. Windows, screened doors, ceiling fans, and high, thatched ceilings allow air circulation to enable hot air to escape.
We use mulching to reduce transpiration from flowerbeds, landscaped areas, and our organic garden.
Flow control showerheads are used in the bathrooms at all properties. All swimming and plunge pools are sanitized with non-chlorine based treatments.
Laundry - We use only biodegradable detergents and use automated washing machines that precisely measure the amount of detergents needed per load.
Toiletries - We use locally produced organic soaps and amenities.
Bed linens - We use only 100% cotton sheets.
Reservations Office – We use LED light bulbs whenever possible and purchase only recycled paper for printing purposes.
