The Bali Eco Hotel is a resort nestled in the foothills of Munduk Andong Kelod, just one-hour northwest of Ubud. It was designed by local architect I Ktut Laksamana Baktinadi. The Bali Eco Hotel is the “Village Above the Clouds” and is perched on the tip of an ancient valley dotted with terraced rice fields of rice, flowers, and vegetable gardens.
You will be immersed in tranquility and breathtaking views with clarity all the way to the Indian ocean. The Bali Eco Hotel is designed for travelers looking for an extraordinary and authentic Balinese experience.
The Bali Eco Hotel is the perfect escape site and a peaceful place to relax and unwind, and finish that novel or breathe deep in meditation. Do you love to hike, run, or cycle? At the Bali Eco Hotel, you can go out for and adventure and challenge yourself on the multiple trekking and cycling paths in the area, then soak your body in natural hot springs located nearby. Walk to the source of a fresh water spring and traditional water temple in a bamboo forest. Melt everything away. Reconnect to the simple things in life. Reconnect to simplicity of natural living.
Munduk Andong Kelod enjoys mild mountain weather due to its location at an altitude of about 3,000 feet (914 meters). With its fertile land, clean waters and cooler temperatures, you will find yourself surrounded by thriving agricultural crops.
We believe in ecotourism policies, which is responsible travel to natural areas that conserves the environment and improves the well-being of local people. We employ our staff from the surrounding villages, providing work opportunities with job training and English lessons.
Ecotourism focuses on socially responsible travel, personal growth, and environmental sustainability. It typically involves travel to destinations where flora, fauna, and cultural heritage are the primary attractions.
Ecotourism is intended to offer tourists insight into the impact of human beings on the environment, and to foster a greater appreciation of our natural habitats. Its purpose may be to educate the traveller, to provide funds for ecological conservation, to directly benefit the economical development of local communities, or to foster respect for different cultures and for human rights.
Responsible ecotourism includes programs that minimize the negative aspects of conventional tourism on the environment and enhance the cultural integrity of local people. In addition to evaluating environmental and cultural factors, an integral part of ecotourism is the promotion of recycling, energy efficiency, water conversation, waste management, and creation of economic opportunities for local communities.
All the above and more are the mission of our Bali Eco Hotel. And we welcome our guests to participate in the Sareng Sami School, a project we are developing ~ which provides free after-school activities to the local people about permaculture, recycling, aids awareness, arts, computer and english lessons.
